OLD BUSINESS:

a.      At the BOS meeting,  First Select said there would be money for a Budget for next year.   With the reinstated funds we will be able to again be members of the CT Watershed Association.  It is through groups such as CWA, that we find out about grant money.   At that meeting, the  Chair presented the preliminary plan as put together by Member Peter.  This outlined the objectives of the Commission.  When asked what was the order of steps, the Board was told:
·         The first was for the BOS to research insurance/liability for workers clearing the river.
Ms. Menard was very concerned about a work party in boats with chain saws.  Chair
said with pre-planning and assigned jobs, safety could be assured.
·         Completion of the acquisition of the Hensel Property.  Ed Fillipone, former interim First
Selectman, affirmed talks that had taken place and that the owner was to make
  the next move.
·         Land acquisition of the Bopka and Norton Properties was needed to make a trail.  A
discussion of a CT River walkway followed.

NEW BUSINESS:

a.      Chair presented pictures and drawings of proposed Scantic River Park project from
1998, year Commission was established.  John offered to contact the firm listed on the  drawing and get further information.

Adjournment:  8:10 PM
