MINUTES OF JANUARY 17, 2007 MEETING

Call To Order: 7:15 PM
Minutes : Reviewed / accepted. Since only 3 members were in attendance, informal discussions of agenda items took place instead of actual meeting.
· Dick Sherman has copy of conservation & easement restrictions for the “Mansions at Canyon Ridge” (formerly Mansions on Scantic) project.
· 1st Select was told about work on Scantic and hope to do a spring project to open it up. Mrs. Menard questioned what would happen if a volunteer got hurt while taking part in project. She and her husband would like to be part of any trip.
· 1st Select Mrs. Menard said to submit paperwork to reinstate budget so we can again be part of other associations.
· FOI workshop is scheduled for 2/7/08 at 4PM & 7 PM; Dick Sherman plans to
attend. Others welcome.
· Member Al Floyd’s ideas for web page included bio’s of members and maybe even fun pictures, emailed to him; perhaps having the river/rivers in background;
Website would include local hikes, SWRA activities, and any other ideas from members.
· Request from SWRA was received for Dick Sherman to lead a trip in the spring.
· Members reviewed the Town survey and prior correspondence regarding acquisition of new properties.
· Idea of having a 10th anniversary celebration of the Commission in October.
