Unfinished Business
a. Mansions on Scantic – Up and running. Name has been changed to
“Mansions at Canyon Ridge”.
b. River Guides – More Guides will be run off. At SRWA meeting July 9th,
over 400 have been sold. Two purchased by Janice.
c. Canoe trips on Scantic – A group, that has paddled several rivers throughout the state, is interested in the Scantic. Dick suggested opening up access for canoeing to encourage this group to come and generate interest in the Scantic.
d. Flood (River Review) – Still on hold.
e. Trail Markers – Status quo.
f. New Members – Margaret Steinbugler is officially a new member.
Old Business
a. Town has no money to purchase the Tschumi property. But Town is trying
to come to agreement on Hensell property with owner.
New Business
a. CT Watershed Council planning trips down Connecticut River. Eastern Mountain Sports is interested in working in conjunction with Council by free demonstrations and use of equipment. Date is July 29th.
b. Janice Warren spoke about a stream walking training course in Ledyard.
c. Town Board of Finance took away our $500/year budget. Dick will make a suggestion that the Town take responsibility for any money needed to continue our affiliation with CT Rivers Alliance which was previously paid from our budget.
d. Source to Sea cleanup is scheduled for September 29th.
