MINUTES OF APRIL 20, 2006 MEETING

Call to Order:  7:05 PM

Minutes of March 16, 2006 meeting:  Reviewed / Corrected / Accepted.  

Unfinished Business
1.      Omelia Road property:  Rep. Graziani again called regarding quit-claim deed that was to be delivered to Town.
2.      Mansions on Scantic:  Project totally on hold until a viable sewer location is located.
3.      SRWA Projects:  Spring Splash was a success.    
4.      Mission Statement update:  V-Chair provided a draft copy to each member for review.
5.      Master Plan update:  
6.      EW River Guide:  Chair in process of putting maps together and then perhaps getting them laminated.
7.      Canoe Trips on Scantic:  Canoe trips on Scantic:  Boy Scouts and others still eager to do this.  Next meeting we’ll look at dates.  
8.      Flood (River Review):  It was thought that all 5 areas of snags could be accessed from land and removed without too much difficulty.  President of the Scantic Glen Condo Association stated that when the gates are locked, the AHRC will be provided with the combination.
9.      Trail Markers:  It is hoped they will be in place on trail on east side of river before the leaves are out fully.
10.     New Members:  Member Al talking to several folks who want to get involved.
11.      UCONN student’s Broad Brook Pond Park:  Grant request in process.

Old Business
     1.   Paul Scannell does have archives of AHRC, which will be used to supply history
      for the River Guide  
New Business
1.      Discussion of Fields Pond Foundation grant paperwork, to see if it would apply to AHRC’s purpose and mission.  
2.      Member Tom Pikul suggested that we plan ahead for an activity on Earth Day since it was too late to do something this year.
