Special Meeting - May 11, 2005
Minutes
CALL TO ORDER AND ATTENDANCE
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Sherman. Commissioners Barton, Devanney, Simmons and Sinsigallo were present along with Chief DeMarco.
NEW BUSINESS
Police Department Sub-Station - Main Street, Broad Brook, CT
The meeting was turned over to Chief DeMarco who informed the commissioners present that the complex which houses the sub-station has been sold and due to economics, the new owners are requesting rent for the sub-station which the Police Department cannot afford at this point in time. Consequently, beginning July 1, 2005 the police department sub-station will be closed and all furniture and equipment will be put into storage for future use.
There was additional discussion regarding this matter among the commissioners present and the building on Emily Road (which currently houses the ambulance association) was discussed. It was a consensus of the commissioners present that the location on Emily Road is not visible enough to the public and the purpose of the sub-station is to be visible to the public.
The Chief then stated that he is continuing to look into a viable location in Broad Brook which will be visible to the public and when any additional information is forthcoming it will be brought to the attention of the commission.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
A motion was made by Commissioner Sinsigallo, seconded by Commissioner Simmons that due to the request from the Union President that the Executive Session for this evening be canceled/postponed due to hardship that the Executive Session be canceled/postponed.

A motion was made by Commissioner Sinsigallo, seconded by Commissioner Devanney that the Executive Session scheduled for this evening be rescheduled. The Executive Session will be held at the next stated meeting of the Police Commission which is scheduled for Wednesday, June 8, 2005. All parties will be notified.

ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by Commissioner Sinsigallo, seconded by Commissioner Simmons to adjourn the special meeting of the East Windsor Police Commission at 7:29 p.m.
