TOWN OF EAST WINDSOR
BOARD OF FINANCE BUDGET MEETING
February 28, 2007
The Board of Finance Budget meeting was called to order at 7:37 p.m. at the East Windsor High School Cafeteria.
Present were Noreen Farmer, Marie DeSousa, William Dove, Dale Nelson, Tammy Sorensen-Duray, Jack Manette, Gil Hayes, Ed Filipone, Kenneth Crouch and Mary Szabo.
Absent were Paul Catino, Leo Szymanski and Tom Sinsigallo
Presentations were as followed – general comments/concerns are noted.
Broad Brook Library – Vice-President Don Ojantakanen supplied all present with a brief written commentary. He verbally stated that Jack and Marilyn Rajala do a lot of volunteer work at the library. The library is opened Wednesdays 1:00pm –7:00pm and Saturdays 10:00am-12:pm. They do not have any endowments. He wasn’t sure who owned the building.
Cemetery Association – Daniel Burnham and Craig Arnold presented the budget. Daniel Burnham gave a brief overview of projects they worked on during the past year. He stated that approximately $70,000 in goods and services to the Town transpired. The clearing of trees in Melrose and a new fence in Windsorville that a Local Vendor donated half the expense contributed to this. Liability insurance is due to the fact the Association Officers need to be bonded. The Audit and Financial Statements were requested and provided.
Library Association of Warehouse Point – Elise Spilberg, Vincent Bologna,
Cindy Miller and Gary Mazzone represented the Library Association. The
budget submitted was based upon the Library being a Town Agency. This
was the direction the Ad-Hoc Committee was pursuing. Since, this has
not been determined to date they were asked to provide us with a budget as
an Association. They will present this at the March 28, 2007 budget session.
It was agreed upon that a joint meeting of the BOS, BOF and Association
would take place at a later date in May to evaluate our options. Financial and
Audit statements were provided earlier.
4.) VNA – No representation - An actual reduction in their Budget was submitted.
Respectfully Submitted,
Marie E. DeSousa
