A quorum of 4 voting members was not established as only 3 members were present.
An informal discussion took place with no Motions or votes.
Mr. Richards passed out copies of a Hartford Club Social Economic Survey. He suggested that they might be able to do something along those same lines. Maybe they could do their own survey of local businesses and use this for examples of survey questions.
Clay Crawford, of “Your Town Community Guide,” passed out packets of information which included samples of maps and community guides that they have done for other towns. Mr. Crawford explained that they publish Town Guides for over 500 towns in New England. The guides and maps are free to the towns. They are funded by local advertisers. The guides could include a map of the town along with photos, as well as a listing of Town departments and phone numbers, and the advertisements from local businesses. The Board members discussed the best way to get businesses involved. It was suggested putting something in the Journal Inquirer or the Reminder. Mr. Crawford referred to a sample letter to send to businesses. Mr. Moffett said that the would be the contact person. Ms. Whitten said that she would write the letter and she felt that they need to get Denise Menard’s OK. Mr. Richards felt that the Chamber would be behind this.
