OPPORTUNITY FOR RESIDENTS TO SPEAK

NEW BUSINESS
26 Bissell Street
Development Director Eileen Buckheit initiated a general discussion of the history of 26 Bissell Street, the building on which was demolished. The town can use the small lot for parking or sell it to an abutting landowner. TAB Computers offered to purchase the parcel to add to their abutting property for use as additional parking. Ms. Buckheit recommends that the town sell the parcel to TAB Computers. Committee Chair Linda Russo questioned the appraisal of the property, which was higher but improperly inflated, using the town’s on-call appraiser. The other two abutting landowners were not interested in acquiring the parcel. A general discussion of the appraisal and the possibility of doing an RFP followed. Assistant Corporation Counsel Rich Gentile will continue negotiations with TAB and obtain written
confirmation from the other two abutting landowners that they are not interested in the parcel.
No further action taken at this time.
OLD BUSINESS
Two Parcels on Park Avenue/Main Street (Route 5 North)
Public Works Director Tim Bockus initiated a general discussion of the parcels and his progress with obtaining records of remediation from the DOT and/or DEEP. Councillor Anita Morrison had questions regarding the past soil remediation process. Councillor Morrison will produce her DEEP report to Committee members and to Attorney Gentile and Director Bockus. Director Bockus will produce the DEEP reports and similarly distribute same.
No further action taken at this time.
