CONDOMINIUM ASSOCIATION RESIDENTIAL MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE COLLECTION

Chair Kehoe called the public hearing to order at 7:12 p.m.

The following is a copy of a legal notice published in the Wednesday, October 14, 2009 edition of the Hartford Courant.

LEGAL NOTICE

Public notice is hereby given that the Town Council of the Town of East Hartford, Connecticut, will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers, 740 Main Street, East Hartford, Connecticut, regarding proposed revisions to the East Hartford Code of Ordinances as follows:
                
Section 16-5, subsection (h) entitled, “Condominium Association Residential Municipal Solid Waste Collection”.

Any person(s) wishing to express an opinion on this matter may do so at this meeting.

The Chair gave a brief explanation of the new subsection (h) to Section 16-5 that is the subject of the public hearing.  The new subsection will allow small condominium associations of twenty units or less, which association does not have a minimum of 50% owner-occupied units, to enter into a contract with the Town of East Hartford to have their trash collected at a fee based on the town’s per household cost for solid waste collection and disposal.


No one came forth to comment.
