OVERPAYMENT OF TAXES ORDINANCE
PRESENT Chair Richard F. Kehoe, Vice Chair William P. Horan, Jr., Majority Leader Marcia A. Leclerc, Minority Leader Donald H. Pitkin, Councillors Marc I. Weinberg, Jason Rojas, Barbara-Ann Rossi, Patricia Harmon and Eric Thompson
Chair Kehoe called the public hearing to order at 7:10 p.m.

LEGAL NOTICE
Public notice is hereby given that the Town Council of the Town of East Hartford, Connecticut, will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers, 740 Main Street, East Hartford, Connecticut, on revisions to the Town of East Hartford Code of Ordinances as follows:
Registrars of Voters Salary – Section 2-3b
Overpayment of Taxes – Section 10-48(b),(c),and (d)
Any person(s) wishing to express an opinion on this matter may do so at this meeting.

The Chair gave a brief overview of the proposed Registrar of Voters Salary ordinance and the proposed increase effective January 1, 2009. The Chair also explained the proposed Overpayment of Taxes ordinance, where citizens have five years after receipt of a certified letter from the Town of East Hartford in which to claim the overpayment of taxes.
No one came forward to speak.
There being no further business, the Chair closed the meeting at 7:17 p.m.
