Decisions of the April 26, 2012 Public Hearing

At a public hearing held by the East Hartford Zoning Board of Appeals in the Town Council Chambers at 740 Main Street, East Hartford, Connecticut, on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 7:30 p.m., the following applications were heard and acted upon:
RA East Hartford, LLC, 329 Ellington Road, Requests variances from Sections 210.5(c)(1 & 2) and 210.6(d) Signs, to permit increasing the ground sign from 32 sq. ft. to 98.81 sq. ft. and height from 15 ft. to 20 ft., also increasing the total square footage of signage from 130.5 sq. ft. to 310.3 sq. ft. and increasing the number of signs from 3 to 6. (Zone B-1)[Postponed from the March 26, 2012 meeting][Denied by a vote of 4-1]
Steve Weinstein, 1375 Silver Lane, Requests a variance from Section 302.1 Permitted Uses, to permit a food trailer at the existing garden store in a residential zone. (Zone R-2)[Denied by a vote of 5-0]
Frances Jones, 101-103 Garvan Street, Requests a variance from Sections 304.4 Lot Size per Dwelling Unit and 211.1(a) Dimensional Requirements for Corner Lots, to permit the rebuilding of a 3 family structure in it’s present footprint requiring a variance of 6173 sq. ft+/- of lot area, an interior side yard variance of 3 ft+/- and a street side, side yard variance of 17.5 ft+/- in order to rebuild the structure in case of a casualty of 50% or more of the existing structure. (Zone R-4)[Approved by a vote of 5-0]
