At a public hearing held by the East Hartford Zoning Board of Appeals in the Town Council Chambers at 740 Main Street, East Hartford, Connecticut, on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 7:30 p.m., the following applications were heard and acted upon:
Alan Embleton, 111 Lydall Street, Requests a variance from Section 302.5(a) Yards, to permit a front porch requiring a 19 ft. variance from the front property line setback. (Zone R-2)[Approved by a vote of 4-0]
Kenne Thompson, 1016 Main Street, Requests a variance from Section 222.1 (a)1 & (c)1, to permit alcohol sales for on-site consumption within 500 ft. of a public playground and House of Worship and within 1000 ft. of another  building or premises also with a permit for on-site consumption of alcohol sales. (Zone B-5)[Approved by a vote of 4-0]
Paul and Sally Benoit, 96 Main Street, Request a variance from Section 214.2(e) Accessory Structures, to rebuild a garage destroyed by fire to 1128 Sq. ft. (Zone B-1)[Approved by a vote of 4-0]
