At a public hearing held by the East Hartford Zoning Board of Appeals in the Town Council Chambers at 740 Main Street, East Hartford, Connecticut, on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 7:30 p.m., the following applications were heard and acted upon:
Mark Fey, agent for, 148 Roberts Street, Requests a variance from Section 502.1 Permitted Uses, to permit an “Adult Day Care” facility. (Zone I-2)[Continued from the March 31, 2011 meeting][Denied by a vote of 4-0]
Bret Bowin, agent for, 151 Roberts Street, Requests a variance from Section 502.1 Permitted Uses, to permit expansion of the tennis courts to include 6 squash courts. (Zone I-2)[Postponed from the March 31, 2011 meeting][Approved by a vote of 4-0]
Capitol Studios, agent for, 1475 Silver Lane, Requests a variance from Section 205.1(b) Nonconforming Uses, to eliminate the existing nonconforming auto repair and expand the retail sales area for a convenience store. (Zone R-2)[Continued from the March 31, 2011 meeting][Denied by a vote of 3-1]
Gail Zemantic, 483 Forest Street, Requests a variance from Sections 205.3 & 220 Reconstruction of Nonconforming Structures and Nonconforming Lots, to have the ability to rebuild the structure as-is should it be destroyed more than 50%. (Zone R-2)[Approved by a vote of 4-0]
