Decisions of the October 29, 2009 Public Hearing

At a public hearing held by the East Hartford Zoning Board of Appeals, in the Town Council Chambers, 740 Main Street, East Hartford, Connecticut, on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 7:30 p.m., the following applications were heard and acted upon:
Richard Prunier, 72 Warren Drive, Requests a variance from Section 209.1(a), to permit the widening of a driveway in the required front yard to within 1 ft. of the property line. (Zone R-3)[Approved by a vote of 5-0]  
Hasan Saleh, 189 Goodwin Street, Requests a variance from Sections 205.3 Non-Conforming Structures and 502.1 Permitted Uses to permit the rebuilding of a residence in an Industrial Zone should it be damaged or destroyed more than 50%. (Zone I-2)[Approved by a vote of 5-0]
Lillian and Michael Manning, 50 Pinecrest Drive, Requests a variance from Section 214.2(c) Accessory Structures to permit the addition of an 8’ x 12’ shed, making it and an existing garage 289 sq. ft. over the permitted square footage.(Zone R-3)[Approved by a vote of 5-0]
Purvi Desai, 215 Maple Street, Requests a variance from Section 209.1(a), to permit the widening of a driveway in the required front yard to within 2 ft. of the property line. (Zone R-3)[Approved by a vote of 5-0]  
Jose and Victoria Vidal, 119 Goodwin Street, Requests a variance from Section 502.1 Permitted Uses to permit the refurbishing of a barn into a 3 family residential building in an Industrial Zone. (Zone I-2) [Postponed to the December 3, 2009 meeting by the applicant]
