At a public hearing held by the East Hartford Zoning Board of Appeals, in the Town Council Chambers, 740 Main Street, East Hartford, Connecticut, on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 7:30 p.m., the following applications were heard and acted upon:
Cello Partnership d/b/a Verizon Wireless, 1492 Silver Lane, Requests a variance from Sections 302.1 Permitted Uses and 225.5 Commercial Wireless Telecommunications to permit the installation of cellular antennas in the church bell tower structure. (Zone R-2)[Approved by a vote of 5-0 with the stipulation all antennas be placed within the church bell tower structure]
Hsuan Hsiao, 9 Ambrose Terrace, Requests a variance from Section 304.5(c) Yards. To permit a deck within 2 feet of the rear property line. (Zone R-4)[Continued to the July 30, 2009 meeting]  
Norma Rodas, 56 Woodbridge Avenue, Requests a variance from Section 205.2 Nonconforming Uses, to enclose an existing open porch for use as additional living space. (Zone R-4)[Approved by a vote of 5-0]  
Goodwin College Inc., 403 Main Street, Requests variances from Sections 222.1(a)(1) Alcoholic Liquors,  to permit a magnet high school within 500 feet of 1 liquor store and 2 cafés. (Zone B-2)[Withdrawn by the applicant]  
Brian and Joyce Hope, 154 Ridgewood Road, Requests a variance from Section 214.2(e) Accessory Structures, to permit an additional 128 sq. ft. of accessory building storage. (Zone R-2)[Approved by a vote of 5-0]
