- Discussion on proposed signage for Hoffman Auto Center on Connecticut Boulevard
- Daniel Lauretano, of Lauretano Sign Group, presented their signage proposal which included individual signs as well as changes to their existing facades. There is a question as to the EMC portion of the signs at both ends of the site and Corporation Counsel is reviewing a letter dated January 20, 2010 from Hoffman’s attorney, Daniel Kleinman, in regards to this issue. After said review is complete, Corporation Counsel will advise the Commission on how they should move forward.
- Discussion on proposed signage for the Central Business District
- Ms. Webb reported on the survey conducted by the Trinity College students on behalf of the Community Economic Development Fund (“CEDF”) wherein a significant number of businesses take issue with the town’s signage requirements. Chairman Kayser asked that Ms. Webb come back to the Commissions with specific issues business owners have in regards to signage.
- P&Z Commissioners asked when a decision would be handed down in the matter relating to the Dunkin Donunts application for Governor Street, East Hartford. Mr. Dayton reported that he expects to have a decision sometime in March.
- Mr. Grottole asked for an update on the Redevelopment Agency’s activities. Ms. Webb reported on the HUD application currently pending for the Daley Court site on Burnside Avenue.
