PUBLIC HEARING
February 7, 2011

The Public Hearing of the Historic District Commission of East Hartford, Connecticut was called to order at 7:01 p.m. in Conference Room “A” (formerly the Building Department Conference Room) at Town Hall by Chair David Holmes.

On a roll call by Secretary Robert Pasek:

PRESENT:  Secretary Robert Pasek, Chair David Holmes, Travis Simpson, Alternate Jeffrey Cummings, Gloria Visgilio-Lupi, Vice-Chair Steven Hudak, and Alternate Mary Manns

ABSENT: Alternate Dusty McMahan

ALSO PRESENT:  Liaison Mary G. Martin; Municipal Historian, Raymond Johnson; Applicant, Mrs. JoAnn Tuttle

The Legal Notice printed in The Hartford Courant on January 27, 2011 was read by Clerk, Michelle Enman.

Presentation by Applicant (#77) – 259-263 Naubuc Avenue – (Owner:  Tuttle): Certificate of Appropriateness requested for installation of vinyl windows.  Mrs. Tuttle stated the reason for their desire to install vinyl basement windows is because they will be easier to keep clean and have better insulating features at ground level.  She stated that the two windows on the 2nd story and the one window on the north side of the 1st story (at the far west end) are in areas that are not heated.  They plan to leave the existing aluminum storm windows in place.  Other existing windows in the home are of wood, except for those in the back of the house that are not seen from the street.  Mrs. Tuttle provided cut sheets and/or manufacturer’s brochures that illustrated the new windows for both the basement windows and house windows.

There being no further discussion, the Public Hearing was CLOSED at 7:26p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
