CALL TO ORDER
A Regular Meeting of the East Hartford Economic Development Commission was called to order at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 by EDC Commissioner Marilyn Pet, Chair.

- OPPORTUNITY FOR RESIDENTS TO ADDRESS COMMISSOIN ON AGENDA ITEMS
- APPROVAL OF EDC MINUTES
MOTION by Mr. Collins, seconded by Ms. Rossi to approve minutes

- Update of Main Street Business Meeting held May 18, 2011
- The meeting was viewed as being quite positive, attracting additional business/property owners.
- Mayor LeClerc suggested Commissioners each adopt a business in the hopes of attracting additional involvement in future endeavors.
- Update of the Bridge to Bridge Clean Up Day held May 14, 2011
- Ms. Arietta commented that businesses have done a better job with the upkeep after last year’s Clean Up Day.
- Mayor LeClerc reported that there were approximately 125 volunteers from various town groups/agencies/schools
- Podunk Music Festival Advertising Approval
MOTION by Ms. Arietta, seconded by Mr. Collins to approve the expenditure of up to $3,000.00, from funds available in FY 2011-2012, for the advertising piece in conjunction with The Reminder for the Podunk Music Festival being held in August 2011.
APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY
- Formation of Subcommittee on Main Street Traffic Calming
- Ms. Pet, Ms. Arrieta, Ms. Skowronek, Ms. Johnson and Mr. Collins have volunteered their time to serve in this capacity.
- The first meeting will be held August 10, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. Ms. Beckles will send out a reminder as that date approaches.
- Mr. Collins suggested a future lunch club be held on the Connecticut River
- Alta Lash, executive director of UCAN, requested that Commissioners attend the public hearing being held on June 7, 2011 to address the sale of tax credits to East Hartford businesses.
- EDC Commission Bus Tour of Commercial Development Sites
- The Commission will take no action during this tour and adjourned prior to the departure of the bus.
