Concerns of the Commission
Discussion was held on the number of meetings held throughout the year for the Beautification Commission.  Members concurred that there is limited business for the months of January and February.  It was recommended that the Commission meet in August because of awards.  The Town Clerk is notified of meetings in December for the following year. This issue will be on the agenda for June for a vote.

Sue Kickery questioned the July meeting date and if a meeting will be held.  She is willing to have a picnic but would like to do it the last week in June.  This will be an agenda item for June.

Commissioners requested that Tony Russo do an inventory of the barrels though out town.  Members are concerned with the condition of the barrels.  The Commissioners feel that it is necessary that barrels be purchased to replace those needed due to deterioration.  Tony Russo stated he will do the inventory.  At this time there is only one company that has barrels available for purchase.  Home Depot and Lowe’s no longer carry these types of barrels.  Tony will report back to the Commission in June.

Commissioners noted the following areas in town with concern of safety with trees fallen:
                Greenwood – off of Hills
Corner of Burnside Avenue/Long Hill Street
Cummings/Walnut Streets – dead tree and clean up is needed

The clerk will email Bill Taylor with these concerns.

Payment of Bills:
        Theresa Godreau (clerk)                                         $ 75.00

Vice-Chair Hickey accepted the motion to pay the clerk made by Betty Russell.  Seconded by Dolores Kehoe.  Approved.

Adjournment:
There being no further business, Mary Mourey made a motion to adjourn the meeting at   8:20 p.m. Seconded by Betty Russell. Unanimous.
