The Board of Selectmen and Board of Assessors will hold a public hearing on property tax classifications on Monday, December 2, 2013 at 7:40 p.m. in the first floor conference room at the Town Hall.
This hearing, which is required by law, determines whether the Town will have one classification or will differentiate among several classes when setting the tax rate.

1. Board will vote to approve/disapprove the minutes of the November 18, 2013 Board of Selectmen meeting.
2. Board will vote to approve/disapprove the request from Laura Andrade from the Ideal Club, Inc. for an extension of hours for their upcoming New Year’s Eve function to 2:00 am for the sale do alcoholic beverages.
3. Board will vote to approve/disapprove the request from Leanne Shaw from Boy Scout Troop 29 for the use of the Town Common on Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 8:00 am – 3:00 pm for a fundraiser table.
4. Board will vote to approve/disapprove the request from the Plymouth County Commissions to send letter to the local legislators supporting House Bill 2516.
5. Board will vote to approve/disapprove the following Board of Selectmen Meeting Schedule for 2014 with the starting time of 6:30 pm:

PENDING ISSUES
1. Eastern States Steel
Report received; need to set up meeting with DEP
Eastern States Steel Site has been an ongoing issue for over a decade. The taxes on the site have been unpaid for a number of years but the town has been reluctant to take possession of the property due to hazardous waste issues at the site. The town has currently engaged a number of lawyers, as well as representatives of the D.E.P. and O.C.P.C., to find a solution in both cleaning up the site and its ultimate taking by the town. This process, most likely, will not see fruition for several years.
