ACTION ITEMS

1. Board will vote to approve/disapprove the minutes of the April 20, 2010.

2. Board will vote to approve/disapprove request of Treasurer/Collector Marilyn Thompson to appoint Catherine Chermesino Assistant Treasurer/Collector according to MGL Chapter 41, Section 39A & 39 C. Appointment will run concurrent with the Treasurer/Collector’s contract.

3. Board will vote to approve/disapprove the recommendation of the Recreation Commission to appoint Jennifer Huss to a vacant seat on the Recreation Commission effective immediately through June 30, 2010.

4. Board will vote to approve/disapprove the recommendation of the Zoning Board of Appeals to appoint Gerry Leavitt to a seat vacated by Richard Bachman on the Zoning Board of Appeals, effective immediately through June 30, 2011.

5. Board will vote to approve/disapprove the recommendation of the Zoning Board of Appeals to appoint Kevin Marchant to a seat vacated by Gerry Leavitt on the Zoning Board of Appeals as an associate member, effective immediately through June 30, 2012.

6. Board will vote to approve/disapprove the renewal of the following April Licenses:

                                     BOARD DISCUSSIONS

1. Letter from Detective John Grillo regarding establishments that engage in the
purchase and sale of used articles.

Detective Grillo is recommending that language be added to the Town’s License to Buy and Sell Used Articles that requires license holders to provide the town with documentation regarding the persons coming into their stores to sell articles. See Detective Grillo’s letter for suggested language.

2. Letter dated April 7, 2010 from COA Director Nancy Hill regarding the COA’s concerns regarding the present condition of the Gladys Farren Cottage after the recent flooding.

3. Moratorium Legislation on the development of fossil fuel electric generating facilities.

4. Letter from Town Clerk Marcia Weidenfeller regarding recent change in Open Meeting Law concerning posting meetings.

2. East Bridgewater Hazardous Waste Day is Saturday, May 1 from 8 am to 12 pm at 234 Thatcher Street. A complete list of acceptable items is available at the Town Hall.

3. The East Bridgewater Support Our Troops organization will be holding its Annual Road Race on May 15, 2010 – Armed Forces Day. The starting point is in front of Town Hall and starting time is 9 am. Runners leave at 9 am and walkers leave approximately 5 – 10 minutes after the runners. There is no registration fee, but contributions are gladly accepted.
