Selectmen's Minutes 09/16/08
The weekly meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held on Tuesday evening, September 16, 2008 at 7:40 p.m.


Present:             David L. Walsh, Chairman; Peter A. Hamilton, Clerk; Theresa McNulty

George Samia, Town Administrator;

Catherine Johnson, Administrative Assistant


Appointment


Mr. Christopher Collins of Energy Conservation Corporation was present to update the Board on the findings of the energy audit conducted.


Mr. Collins presented the energy audit of the Central School to the Board and explained that the audits of the Middle School and the High School would be completed by the end of the week.


A lengthy discussion was held relative to the cost savings to the Town, as well as the overall impacts the improvements will have on the town buildings.


 

Appointment


Superintendent Dr. Strojny and School Committee Chairman, Beth Hayes, were present to report to the Board the financial impact on the School Department budget.


A discussion was held regarding a building assessment on the High School and the lighting energy report for all schools completed this week.


Action Items


M/Hamilton, s/McNulty, a unanimous vote, approve the minutes of the September 9, 2008 meeting.


Town Administrator Report


Treasurer and Tax Attorney submission of the Tax Title list


Copies of all C.O.A. appointment letters of interest.

Joe Savino formal letter received regarding the sale of his property on Robbins Pond to the Town for a Senior Center.


Open Forum


No one present


M/Hamilton, s/McNulty, move to close Open Session and go into Executive Session for the purpose of discussing personnel matters and will not be returning to Open Session.


VOTE: Yes – Walsh, Hamilton, McNulty; a unanimous vote in favor.
