Selectmen's Minutes 10/30/07
The weekly meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held on Tuesday evening, October 30, 2007 at 7:30 p.m.

Present:        Theresa McNulty, Chairman; Peter Hamilton, Clerk, pro-tem
George Samia, Town Administrator;
Catherine Johnson, Senior Clerk

Theresa McNulty held a moment of silence for a long time resident, Barbara Tirrell, who passed away and expressed the Board’s condolences to Ms. Tirrell’s family and friends.

Appointment

Fire Chief Ryon Pratt was present to request the Board to vote to abate the FY 2004 ambulance balance of $55,601.42.

M/Hamilton, s/McNulty, a unanimous vote, approve the abatement for the FY 2004 ambulance balance of $55,601.42.

Chief Pratt announced the donation of a defibrillator from a family in Town, in memory of their father, and suggested it be placed in the Town Hall.

M/Hamilton, s/McNulty, a unanimous vote, authorize the Fire Chief to acquire and place a defibrillator in Town Hall.

Action Item

M/Hamilton, s/McNulty, a unanimous vote, approve the minutes of the October 23, 2007 meeting.

Appointment

Robert Looney, Town Moderator and Marcia Weidenfeller, Town Clerk were present to go over the article on the warrant for the November 5, 2007 Special Town Meeting.

Department Update

Robert Lundberg, Building Inspector and Stephen Belcher, Planning Board Chairman, were present to give the Board a department update and explain various functions performed in their office.

Mr. Lundberg stated that the new permit process and sign-off sheet is working well.  

Mr. Belcher expressed to the Board the need to address 40B smart growth and the affordable housing quota in the very near future.

Department Update

Peter Spagone, Jr., Board of Health Chairman was present to give the Board a department update and explained various functions performed in his office.

Mr. Spagone thanked the community, as well as various town departments, for another successful Skylur Walk.

Mr. Spagone gave an update on the bike park and expressed his interest in resolving the ongoing issues with regards to the condition of the park.
