Present: Tenhoor, Hagerty, Roveto, Dahlen, Laird
Meeting was called to order at 7:34
Minutes of 9/11/02 and 9/25/02 were accepted.
Urban Harbors Institute (UHI) contract has been accepted for $6500. We have to send them additional database. Discussion of the database structure ended with a motion by John to finalize the list of elements. Database to include.
The spreadsheet list of all waterfront properties with:
Parcel #
Name } from Assessor’s map
Address }
Existence of pier
type (wood, permanent or seasonal, filled)
remnants?
joint ownership?
if no pier possible, reason
possibility of pier (within regulatory guidelines?)
GPS position
Other: description or other valuable data
Map to include:
aerial pictures
sea level pictures
data from spread sheet list of waterfront properties
Public Views:
talk to conservation commissioners
methodology, define types, drive around, identify
Shawn or Bill to send assessor’s information to UHI
Shawn and Heidi to finish adding GPS positions to database.
All to finish the calls to other towns to ask about pier related practices within the next three weeks.
For the other town practices database, John will send out questionnaire form.
Shawn moved that we explore the possibility of a joint open meeting with the Bay Management Committee with the caution that the expenditure of our public funds meet with town requirements and to try to reduce the cost from $2000 to $1500 and the caution that the scope of the meeting include the interests of the pier committee on an equal basis with the wider interests of the Bay Management Committee. Heidi seconded the motion and it was approved.
Other meetings still to plan, Town Committees, boards, selectmen, meeting with Don Beers.
