Meeting convened at 7:00PM
Diane explained the purpose of tonight’s meeting is to go over a few things before meeting with the Board of Selectmen at 7:30PM
Affordable Housing Trust:
Diane brought the members up to speed with the latest concerns by some of the fiscal boards as to the Trust’s ability to borrow and incur debt. It was agreed to change in the fifth paragraph (c) will to may. Jack Griffin asked how much inclusionary funds from Duxbury Estates is anticipated. Christine responded 1.3 million in total but that there is a schedule of payments that are made when applying for building permits.
Andre Martecchini made a MOTION to accept the language change for the fifth paragraph – item (c), seconded by Jack Griffin – unanimously voted.
Affordable Housing Purchase Assistance Program:
Andre asked about possibly reducing the request from $500,000.00 down to $150,000.00 – he had discussions with Betsy Sullivan and there is a concern with earmarking this large sum of money. Brenda Keohan gave his opinion that he felt reducing it to $150,000.00 take the legs out of the article. He added that would be a lot of work issuing the Request for Proposals and only help one or two applicants. Charlie Rourke noted that it is housing money within CPA earmarked for housing what is the difference if it stays in the account or is earmarked for this program? Jack Griffin asked about possible homes and the answer provided was there are currently 16 on the market that could benefit from this program. Diane noted that is a CPC decision on the $500,000.00 and it should be left to
them.
