The members of the Town’s Emergency Operations Team met this morning to discuss the potential public safety issues associated with the 4th of July parade.
We concur that the weather events predicted for tomorrow present a potential public safety hazard and as such, the Fourth of July parade scheduled for tomorrow (Friday, July 4, 2014) is hereby cancelled.
The Parade Committee will be meeting at 4:00 p.m. to decide upon whether or not to hold the parade on Saturday, July 5, 2014. The meeting has been posted pursuant to the emergency posting procedures as prescribed by the Attorney General’s office and I will plan on attending.
