Duxbury Bay Management Commission
Meeting Minutes – Thursday, July 13, 2006
A meeting of the Duxbury Bay Management Commission was held at the Duxbury Senior Center at 7 pm. In attendance:
Duxbury Bay Management Commission (DBMC): John Carnuccio, Chair, Shawn Dahlen, Kathy Ahern Gould, Jack Kent, Ned Lawson, Jon Nash, Secretary. Missing were
Skip Bennett, Don Gunster, Julie Waltz and Don Beers, ex Officio. A quorum was reached.
I. New Members of the DBMC
The committee has a need for three new members to fill the positions vacated by Jon Nash, outgoing secretary, Julie Waltz, and Skip Bennett. The Commission has received talent bank forms for and will recommend the following to the BOS:
1. John Brawley. Voted, All in favor.
2. Cory Wisneski. Voted. All in favor.
3. Open Position. Shall remain open pending review of qualified applicants.
II. Review of Memos Drafted by Ned Lawson
1. June 15, 2006/Paul Malo. Document reviewed and will be submitted to BOS.
2. July 6, 2006/David Lowry. Document reviewed and will be submitted to BOS.
III. Mattakeesett Boat Ramp Project
There has been no new information since the submission of our memo dated November 16, 2005. Ned Lawson will draft a memo to the BOS to inquire as to the status of the project.
IV. Herring Run Project
Engineers were concerned that there was too much water in the main pond, and have been waiting for rainwater to subside. Work will commence during the week of July 21.
V. Aquaculture
John Carnuccio gave a brief summary of the most recent subcommittee meeting.
VI. Conservation Commission Update
1. Duxbury Construction; 321 King Caesar Road; Voted: All in favor.
2. ZBA; Harrington, 80 Seabury Point Road; to be fwded to ConCom.
3. Draft Watershed Action Plan; to be fwded to DBMC members for future discussion.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:30 pm
