BOARD OF SELECTMEN MINUTES
Present: Andre Martecchini, Chair; and Elizabeth Sullivan, Clerk.
Absent: Jon Witten, Vice-Chair.
Staff: Richard MacDonald, Town Manager; and Barbara Ripley, Executive Assistant.
The meeting was called to order at 8:00 AM.
REQUEST FOR ONE-DAY LIQUOR LICENSE: MIRAMAR RETREAT CENTER / FUNDRAISING GALA ON AUGUST 4, 2007
Reverend Thomas Griffith was present. He explained that this is the fourth annual dinner dance, called "Some Enchanted Evening". The funds are used for the retreat center's capital improvement plan. Mr. Martecchini explained that memoranda from Town public safety departments were received, describing their recommended conditions for the event.
Ms. Sullivan moved that Reverend Griffith, as a representative of Miramar Retreat Center, be granted a One-Day All-Alcohol License to hold a fundraising dinner dance on Saturday,
August 4, 2007 from 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM at 121 Parks Street, subject to the following conditions:
1) That at the start of the event, the Master of Ceremonies, or some other person responsible for the event, explain to the participants where the fire exits are for the room that the function is being held in;
2) That permits are obtained from the Building Department for any related tents, signs, and electrical work planned in conjunction with the event; and
3) That any platforms, staging, or temporary structures be inspected by the Building Department.
Second by Mr. Martecchini. Vote: 2:0:0.
