BOARD OF SELECTMEN MINUTES May 2, 2005
The meeting was called to order at 7:33 PM. Selectmen Andre Martecchini, John Tuffy and Betsy Sullivan were present, along with Town Manager Rocco Longo.
OPEN FORUM
There was no one present under Open Forum.
WATERWAYS AND MOORINGS RULES AND REGULATIONS – HARBORMASTER DON BEERS
CONTINUED FROM MARCH 21, 2005
Also present for this portion of the meeting were Dennis Pearse, Dan Baker, John Carnuccio, Ned Lawson and Shawn Dahlen. The group reviewed the final draft of the Rules and Regulations. They discussed transfers between existing mooring holders and those on the waiting list. The Board members made suggestions. Mrs. Sullivan moved to approve the Rules and Regulations for Duxbury waterways as amended effective immediately. Mr. Martecchini seconded. The motion passed, 3-0.

ONE DAY LIQUOR LICENSES
Mr. Martecchini moved to approve a one-day liquor license for the Duxbury Cultural Council for their “Taste of China” fundraiser to be held on June 11 at the Duxbury Art Complex Museum from 7 to 9pm. Mrs. Sullivan seconded. The motion passed, 3-0.
Mr. Martecchini moved to approve a one-day liquor license for a fundraiser to benefit Shirat Hyam Synagogue, to be held on May 14 from 7 to 11 pm at the Duxbury Senior Center. Mrs. Sullivan seconded. The motion passed, 3-0.
Mrs. Sullivan moved to approve a one-day liquor license for the Friends of the Council on Aging, in conjunction with their annual golf tournament fund raiser awards dinner, to be held at the Duxbury Senior Center from 5 to 9 pm on June 6, 2005. Mr. Martecchini seconded. The motion passed, 3-0.
COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS
Mrs. Sullivan moved to appoint Lee Willis to a 3 year term on the Historical Commission, to expire June 30, 2008. Mr. Martecchini seconded. The motion passed, 3-0.
TOWN MANAGER BRIEF
Mr. Longo reported on the Fiscal Workshop open to department heads, committee members and the public. Other topics of discussion included a presentation of the Town’s Violence in the Workplace training to MMA members; updates on the Snug Harbor Storm Sewer Project; participation in a Transportation Committee Hearing, Comcast’s acquisition of Adelphia Cable; Wright Building application for historical preservation grant, and Armed Forces Day ceremony sponsored by the American Legion.

EXECUTIVE SESSION
At 9:00 PM Mrs. Sullivan moved to go into executive session in accordance with MGL Ch. 39, section 23B, ss3 to discuss collective bargaining and litigation and to immediately reconvene in open session to adjourn. A roll call vote was taken: Mrs. Sullivan, aye; Mr. Martecchini, aye; Mr. Tuffy, aye.
ADJOURNMENT
At 9:55 PM the executive session ended and the meeting reconvened in open session.
Mr. Martecchini moved to adjourn and Mrs. Sullivan seconded. The motion passed, 3-0, and the meeting was adjourned at 9:55 PM.
