BOARD OF SELECTMEN March 13, 2004
The meeting was called to order at 8:35 a.m. at the Duxbury Middle School Gymnasium. Present were Chairman Elizabeth Sullivan, Selectman Andre Martecchini and John Tuffy and Town Manager Rocco Longo.
OPEN FORUM
There was no one present under Open Forum.
ATM ARTICLE 5 MOTION 2 – AMENDMENT
Mr. Longo informed the Board the Finance Committee plans to amend Article 5 Motion 2 to add an additional $60,000 to the Public Safety operating budget for the purpose of keeping the Ashdod Fire Station open. Mrs. Sullivan had prepared an explanation relative to Article 5 Motion 2 and read it to the group. Mr. Martecchini recommended verbiage be added to indicate the amended Article 5 motion 2 includes an added $10,400. This amount will provide level funding of services in FY04 and FY05.
TARKILN BUILDING – AMENDMENT
Mr. Longo asked the Board if they wanted to amend the operating budget under Public Works as it relates to the Tarkiln Building to coincide with the Finance Committee’s recommendation. The Board recommended $4,000 and the Finance Committee allotted zero dollars. Mr. Tuffy indicated he would like to leave it as is. The Board decided to wait until the next Special Town Meeting to decide.
ATM ARTICLE 33 – REVISED BY TOWN COUNSEL
Mr. Longo informed the Board of revisions made by Town Counsel to the motion as it relates to Article 33 entitled “CPC and Water Enterprise Transfer”. This motion is attached and made part of these minutes.
Mr. Tuffy moved the Board indefinitely postpone (IP) Article #33 of the Annual Town Meeting. Mr. Martecchini seconded. The motion passed 3-0.
