Board of Selectmen Meeting                                              May 2, 2003                                     
The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m.  Present were Chairman Elizabeth Sullivan, Selectmen Andre Martecchini and John Tuffy, and Town Manager Rocco Longo.  Others in attendance were Frank Mangione, Vice-Chair, Finance Committee, and Paul Arsenian, Fiscal Advisory Committee.

There was a brief discussion concerning the Teachers Contract; Special Town Meeting Article 3, motion one for $344,003.

Mr. Martecchini moved the Board support the contract settlement concerning the Teacher’s Contract.  Mrs. Sullivan seconded the motion.  The motion passed 2-0.  Mr. Tuffy abstained from voting.
Mr. Longo presented the Police Settlement and Special Town Meeting Article 3, motion four for $39,257.

Mr. Martecchini moved the Board support the Police Contract Settlement.  All in favor, Mr. Tuffy “aye”, Mrs. Sullivan “aye”, Mr. Martecchini “aye”.  The motion passed 3-0.

Mr. Martecchini moved the Board IP (Indefinitely Postpone) Special Town Meeting Article 4 “Unpaid Bills”.  All in favor, Mr. Tuffy “aye”, Mrs. Sullivan “aye, Mr. Martecchini “aye”.  The motion passed 3-0.

Mr. Martecchini moved the Board considers the Library transfer from Salaries to Expenses request of $5,000, Article 2, motion six.  All in favor, Mr. Tuffy “aye”, Mrs. Sullivan “aye”, Mr. Martecchini “aye”.  The motion passed 3-0.

Mr. Martecchini moved the Board reconsider their vote taken at the 4/28/03 Selectmen’s Meeting of Special Town Meeting Article 1 relative to Full Day Kindergarten.  All in favor, Mr. Tuffy “aye”, Mrs. Sullivan “aye”, Mr. Martecchini “aye”.  The motion passed 3-0.

Mr. Martecchini moved the Board support Special Town Meeting Article 1 relative to Full Day Kindergarten.  All in favor, Mr. Tuffy “aye”, Mrs. Sullivan “aye”, Mr. Martecchini, “nay”.  The motion passed 2-1.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
