Conservation Comm. Minutes - 2005/12-20


The Conservation Commission held a meeting in the Mural Room, Lower Level of Town Hall on Tuesday, December 20, 2005 beginning at 7:30 p.m.  Members present were Thomas Gill, Dianne Hearn, Barbara Kelley, and Donald Merry.  Samuel Butcher, Joseph Messina and Holly Morris were absent.  Dr. Gill was Acting Chairman.  Joe Grady, Conservation Administrator was also present.  

ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS
The Conservation Administrator reported that Doyle Cranberry Co. was awarded the management agreement for the Matthews bog and Red Eye Cranberry was awarded the one for the Estes bog.

Mr. Grady requested funding for two interns to perform work for four weeks this winter.  Mr. Merry made a motion that was seconded to approve the expenditure of $2,500 from the Conservation Fund for two interns for 4 weeks.  The vote was 4 – in favor; 0 – opposed.  Motion passed.

The Commission reviewed a revised plan for the pool and cabana project at addressStreet7 Bay Avenue (SE 18-1296).  Mr. Merry made a motion that was seconded to accept the revised plan for SE 18-1296.  The vote was 4 – in flavor; 0 – opposed.  Motion passed.

RULES & REGULATIONS
The Commission continued its review of the latest draft of the rules and regulations and scheduled a public hearing for January 24, 2006 at 8:00 p.m.
