Community Preservation Committee Meeting
Thursday, April 22, 2010

The Community Preservation Committee (CPC) held a meeting in the Mural Room, Lower Level of the Town Hall on Thursday, April 22, 2010 beginning at 8:00 a.m.  Members present included Chairman Holly Morris, John Bear, Lynne Devnew, Tony Kelso, and Pat Loring. Brendan Keohan and Sarianna Seewald were absent.  

PUBLIC FORUM
No subject was brought forth.

TARKILN COMMUNITY CENTER RESTORATION PROJECT
Tag Carpenter, Terry Vose and Susanna Sheehan from Friends of Tarkiln were present for the discussion.  Mr. Carpenter reviewed the status of the project with the CPC.

PROJECT UPDATE
Brochures – CPC discussed distribution of the brochures.

Discussion with Town Manager - Town Manager, Richard MacDonald arrived at the meeting at 8:30 a.m.  Mr. MacDonald reported on the status of the Grange/Fire Station project.

OTHER BUSINESS
CPC discussed role of fiscal committees with regards to CPC projects being brought to Town Meeting.  Mr. Bear volunteered to meet with the Town Moderator.

ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS
The CPC reviewed draft minutes of the meetings on 1/14/2010, 1/28/2010, 2/23/2010, 3/25/2010, and 4/8/2010.  The CPC postponed action on the minutes for 3/25/2010 and 4/8/2010.  Mr. Bear made a motion that was seconded by Ms. Loring.
        Motion:  to approve the minutes of the meeting on 1/14/2010, as drafted.
        Vote:  4 – in favor; 0 – opposed; 1 – abstention (Devnew).  Motion passed.

Mr. Bear made a motion that was seconded by Mr. Kelso.
        Motion:  to approve the minutes of the meeting on 1/28/2010, as drafted.
        Vote:  4 – in favor; 0 – opposed; 1 – abstention (Loring).  Motion passed.

Mr. Kelso made a motion that was seconded by Ms. Loring.
        Motion:  to approve the minutes of the meeting on 2/23/2010, as drafted.  
        Vote:  4 – in favor; 0 – opposed; 1 – abstention (Bear).  Motion passed.

The CPC reviewed and signed invoices.
