Community Preservation Committee Meeting
Thursday, May 8, 2008

The Community Preservation Committee (CPC) held a meeting in the Mural Room, Lower Level of the Town Hall on Thursday, May 8, 2008 beginning at 8:00 a.m.  Members present included Chairman Holly Morris, Brendan Keohan, Lynne Devnew, Tony Kelso, Pat Loring and Sarianna Seewald.  John Bear was absent.  Also present were Joe Grady, Conservation Administrator and Frank Mangione from the Fiscal Advisory Committee.

PUBLIC FORUM
No subject was brought forth.

EXECUTIVE SESSION – POTENTIAL LAND ACQUISTIONS
At 8:05 a.m. Mr. Kelso made a motion that was seconded by Ms. Loring to go into executive session.
Motion:  to go into executive session to consider the taking, purchase, exchange, lease or value of real property which, if discussed outside of this session could have a detrimental effect on the negotiating position of the governing body.  
Vote:  A roll call vote was taken:  5– in favor; 0 – opposed.  Motion passed.  
Ms. Seewald arrived at the meeting during the executive session.

At 8:30 a.m. Mr. Kelso made a motion that was seconded by Ms. Loring.
        Motion:  to reconvene into open session.
        Vote:  A roll call vote was taken: 6 – in favor; 0 – opposed.  Motion passed.

PROJECT UPDATE
Individual members reported on the projects they are involved with to the rest of the CPC.

OTHER BUSINESS
The CPC discussed possible projects for the upcoming year.

ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS
The CPC reviewed the draft minutes of the meeting on 4/10/2008.  Mr. Kelso made a motion that was seconded by Ms. Seewald.
        Motion:  to approve the minutes of the meeting on 4/10/2008 as written.
        Vote:  4 – in favor; 0 – opposed; 2 – abstentions (Keohan, Loring).  Motion passed.

The CPC signed bills for legal services by Town Counsel and the perc test for Berrybrook land purchase.

Meeting adjourned at 9:20 a.m.
