Community Preservation Committee Meeting
Thursday, September 20, 2007

The Community Preservation Committee (CPC) held a meeting in the Mural Room, Lower Level of the Town Hall on Thursday, September 20, 2007 beginning at 8:00 a.m.  Members present included Chairman Holly Morris, Lynne Devnew, Tony Kelso, and Sarianna Seewald.  John Bear, Brendan Keohan, and Pat Loring were absent.   Also present was George Wadsworth from the Planning Board.

EXECUTIVE SESSION – POTENTIAL LAND ACQUISTIONS
At 8:05 a.m. Mr. Kelso made a motion that was seconded by Ms. Seewald to go into executive session.
Motion:  to go into executive session to consider the taking, purchase, exchange, lease or value of real property which, if discussed outside of this session could have a detrimental effect on the negotiating position of the governing body.  
Vote:  A roll call vote was taken:  4 – in favor; 0 – opposed.  Motion passed.  

At 8:57 a.m. Mr. Kelso made a motion that was seconded by Ms. Seewald.
        Motion:  to reconvene into open session.
        Vote:  A roll call vote was taken: 4 – in favor; 0 – opposed.  Motion passed.

PUBLIC FORUM
No subject was brought forth.

COMMUNITY PRESERVATION COALITION
The CPC discussed whether to pay dues for 2007 to join the Coalition or to postpone payment and pay beginning in 2008.  The CPC postponed voting on the matter until there were more members present.

SIGNS & LOGO
The CPC reviewed examples of signs from other towns and discussed putting a notice in the Duxbury Clipper for graphic artists.

WAR MEMORIAL
Ms. Morris reported that she is on a committee to restore a World War I memorial and that the committee may be requesting some funding from CPC.

PROJECTS UPDATE
Mr. Kelso reminded members of the dedication ceremony for the Wright Building on 9/22/07.

ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS
The CPC signed bills and postponed action on the minutes until the next meeting.

Meeting adjourned at 9:30 a.m.
