Community Preservation Committee Meeting

The Community Preservation Committee (CPC) held a meeting in the Mural Room, Lower Level of the Town Hall on Thursday, April 6, 2006 beginning at 8:00 a.m. Members present included, Chairman Holly Morris, Nancy Bennett, Tony Kelso, Pat Loring, Sarianna Seewald and George Wadsworth. Brendan Keohan were absent. Also present were Joe Grady, Conservation Administrator and Frank Mangione from Fiscal Advisory Committee.

WRIGHT BUILDING
Tom Daley, DPW Director and Al Skomiero, Clerk of the Works for the construction project updated the CPC on the restoration of the Wright Building. Two items discussed were windows and floor. Mr. Daley was seeking direction from the CPC as whether to go with reconstructing 10 of the old windows with single panes and storm windows or use thermo panes. The CPC agreed to the thermo panes. The CPC discussed replacing the floor in the rotunda rather than patching sections of the floor and use the wood from the rotunda to patch the floors in the other rooms. The CPC agreed to the floor replacement in the rotunda. Another issue discussed was the status of the leases and the CPC asked the Chairman to contact the Town Manager and the Board of Selectmen to review the progress.
