Community Preservation Committee Meeting

The Community Preservation Committee (CPC) held a meeting in the Mural Room, Lower Level of the Town Hall on Thursday, May 12, 2005 beginning at 8:00 a.m. Members present included Chairman Holly Morris, Nancy Bennett, Tony Kelso, Brendan Keohan, Pat Loring, Sarianna Seewald and George Wadsworth. Also present was Frank Mangione from the Fiscal Advisory Committee.

WRIGHT BUILDING
Ms. Morris gave a project update.
DELANO SUBDIVISION
Mr. Wadsworth reported on a meeting with the Water Department Supervisor, Planning Director and Conservation Administrator with regards to subdividing the portion of land being transferred to the Water Department. He asked if the CPC thought it would be beneficial to delineate the property lines for the open space and housing components as well. The CPC agreed.
DELANO HOUSING
Mr. Keohan gave an update on the two housing projects. The CPC discussed funding sources for the projects and suggested that the Housing Authority contact Steve Dubuque for suggestions.
HOUSING/HISTORICAL RESTRICTIONS
CPC had a general discussion on the requirements for the restrictions. Ms. Morris would contact Dorrie Pizzella for information.
OTHER BUSINESS
Mr. Wadsworth reported on the activities of the Government Study Committee, which led to a discussion on project proposal deadlines. Proposal deadlines would be further discussed at the next meeting.
Ms. Bennett gave an update on the Bluefish River Firehouse project.
ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS
The CPC signed a bill for the ANR plan for the Congress Street housing project.
The CPC reviewed the minutes of the meeting on 4/28/05. Mr. Kelso made a motion that was seconded by Ms. Bennett.
Motion: to approve the minutes of the meeting on 4/28/05, as written.
Vote: 6 – in favor; 0 – opposed; 1 – abstention (Loring).
