Community Preservation Committee Meeting

The Community Preservation Committee (CPC) held a meeting in the Mural Room, Lower Level of the Town Hall on Thursday, April 14, 2005 beginning at 8:00 a.m. Members present included Chairman Holly Morris, Nancy Bennett, Tony Kelso, Sarianna Seewald and George Wadsworth. Brendan Keohan and Pat Loring were absent. Also present were the Conservation Administrator, Joe Grady and Frank Mangione from the Fiscal Advisory Committee.

WRIGHT BUILDING
Ms. Morris gave a progress report. A meeting with the architect is scheduled for April 27, 2005 at 9:00 a.m.
TARKILN COMMUNITY CENTER
Ms. Morris reported the Selection Committee has recommended Menders, Torrey & Spencer, Inc. to be awarded the contract for the architectural assessment.
CONGRESS STREET HABITAT SITE
Mr. Grady reported that Habitat for Humanity has been unable to receive a building permit because the plan shows the abutter’s dwelling on the property. An Approval Not Required (ANR) Plan and land swap may be necessary.
DELANO WELLSITE PARCEL
Mr. Wadsworth was designated the committee’s liaison to coordinate a meeting between the Water Superintendent, Conservation Administrator and the Planning Director.
OTHER BUSINESS
Mr. Grady gave an update on the Island Creek Fish Ladder project.
The CPC discussed signage for the open space parcels bought with CPA funds and updating the open space map.
