Community Preservation Committee Meeting
Wednesday, January 22, 2003
The Community Preservation Committee held a meeting in the Mural Room, Basement of the Town Hall beginning at 4:00 p.m. Members present included Chairman Holly Morris, Jody Hall, Pat Loring, Arthur Vautrain and George Wadsworth. Diane Bartlett was absent.
1. Open Forum: Ms. Morris reported that a meeting of the CPC has been scheduled with the Finance Committee on Tuesday, February 25, 2003 at 7:45 p.m. at the Town Hall.
The regional meeting of Community Preservation Committees is scheduled for Thursday, February 6 at the Marshfield Town Hall at 7 p.m.
2. Update on Affordable Housing
Since Ms. Bartlett was absent, Ms. Morris gave an update on the housing issues. Ms. Loring reported on the status of the conservation restrictions for the Merlet and the Delano properties.
3. Wright Building – Teen Center Request for Funds
Representatives from the Teen Center Committee presented a revised request for funding. Representatives present for the discussion were Debbie Bowen, Frank LeBart, Steve Jones and James MacNab. The Committee reviewed their request. It was noted that the preliminary estimates prepared by Mr. MacNab were for interior work only. No votes were taken.
4. Public Forum Presentation
The Committee discussed who would present the various proposals at the public forum on February 5, 2003. Mr. Wadsworth will present the Wright Building proposal; Mr. Vautrain the Conservation Fund proposal; and Ms. Morris the possible land acquisition proposal. Ms. Morris will also present the 10% allocation to each of the three purposes - open space, historic preservation, and affordable housing.
5. Minutes of Meetings
Mr. Wadsworth made a motion that was seconded by Ms. Hall to accept the minutes of the meeting on 12/11/02, as written. The motion passed unanimously.
Ms. Loring made a motion that was seconded by Mr. Wadsworth to accept the minutes of the meeting on 1/8/03, as written. The motion passed unanimously.
