Surplus Property
Roger Wey requested that the left over material that was used on State Beach’s handicap walk way be declared surplus.  He said that Oak Bluffs could use 40ft. for a pathway on Inkwell Beach.  He said he had spoken to the Sheriff and it was ok.  He pointed out that the Town of Oak Bluffs had given the county the Engineer’s car and also a shed to the Sheriff’s Dept.

Roger Wey / John Alley Moved to declare the left over material used at State Beach for the handicap access walkways surplus and approximately 40ft be given to the Town of Oak Bluffs, So Voted, unanimous (5-0-0).
Discussion on Motion
Carlene asked if any of the material could be used at Eastville Beach.  Tristan said he would ask the Eastville Beach Committee at the next meeting.  Steve Berlucchi said that the material could not be used for any more walkways at State Beach and there should
be enough material for both Oak Bluffs and Eastville Beach.
Deputy Sheriff
Roger Wey explained that Sheriff Michael McCormack would need to deputize someone on Gosnold.  Since there was no one from Gosnold present, a letter be written to the Selectmen to inform them.

There was a brief discussion regarding the lack of representation of Gosnold at the meeting.  It was decided that planning the trip at a different time, rather then summer, would produce a better turn out.

Old Business.
Discussion of Regional Needs
Paul Strauss explained that the County needs to find a new source of revenue that would not impact the taxpayers.  Ideas discussed included:  State Beach Parking Fee, Grants, Managing Norton Point Beach, Deeds Excise Tax, Green Fees, and permant plastic water bottles.

Carlene suggested that everyone submit their thoughts and ideas to Jennifer Randolph and they could be an agenda item at another meeting.

Roger Wey said there should be a timetable set up to discuss the ideas with the Selectmen and community.  There should be a list of revenue ideas as well as a purpose for the funding.
