Minutes of Executive Session

Also Present: Carol Borer, County Manager
Marsha Smolev, Executive Assistant
Commissioner Jason Moved to go into Executive Session for the purpose of discussing strategy with respect to litigation and then reconvene in public session. Commissioner Carroll Seconded the Motion. Commissioner Flynn was concerned about going into Executive Session, thought the discussion should be public. A roll call vote was taken. Commissioners Sawyer, Jason, Collins, Leland, Carroll voted “aye.” Commissioner Flynn voted “nay.” The Motion passed. Commissioner Jason Moved to invite Marsha Smolev, Executive Assistant, to stay for the Executive Session. Chairman Leland declared Marsha Smolev invited.
Executive Session began 8:37 PM. Commissioner Jason gave an update on activities surrounding the Steamship Authority freight issues. Commissioner Collins added information about meetings he’s attended.
Commissioner Carroll Moved to support the subcommittee by planning to go to Boston and by informing the subcommittee going to Boston that the County Commissioners support them; and to focus on potential litigation on the interference with the RFP for freight shipping. Commissioner Sawyer Seconded the Motion. The motion passed unanimously. Some discussion followed.
Roll call vote was taken with all Commissioners voting yes to move back into public session.
The executive session was adjourned at 8:55 p.m.
