Thanksgiving Thoughts

With Thanksgiving upon us, I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who makes this such a great community. The effort needed by many to keep Colchester a special place is always in my thoughts and we should all be proud of what our town represents.

Thank you to the wonderful town staff. They are the ones always out there making sure we remain safe and enjoy the many services and offerings we have in Colchester. Our employees are dedicated and professional people who often go above and beyond what is required in their job to ensure the citizens are served well.

Thank you to the many local organizations that add to our community. Rotary, Lions, Colchester-Hayward Volunteer Fire Company, and the Colchester Business Association are just some of the many groups that help give back to the community and work to make Colchester a better place.

Thank you to the volunteers who help run this town. Many people serve on elected or appointed boards. These boards are called upon every day to make decisions that impact our daily lives. Also, there are many volunteers that serve the food bank and other social initiatives. Without the generosity of our volunteers, Colchester could not thrive in the manner it does today. You should all be proud of the service you give and know that you are making a difference in the lives of others.

Thank you to the Colchester businesses who provide jobs, goods, and services to the town. It’s tougher than ever to do business and our local companies do a great job. Every business in Colchester is special and is woven into the fabric of our community. The jobs you create allow us to provide for our families. The goods and services you provide allow us to live our lives in the manner we wish.

Thank you to all the past and present service men and women from Colchester and other towns that are out there defending our nation. Let us not forget them or their families for the sacrifices they are making.

Lastly, thank you to all the residents of Colchester. A community can only be a reflection of those who live in it. It is your contributions, willingness to serve, and steadfast guidance that keeps us going in the right direction.

There is so much to be thankful for in Colchester and there are so many who help make this a great town. I hope we all have the opportunity to thank those who help keep this town a special place.
Holiday Homecoming

Just a reminder that our annual Holiday Homecoming will be on Saturday, December 1st at 4:30 p.m. on the Town Green. Please join us in celebrating the holidays through music, laughter, and song. Of course, the celebration would not be complete without a visit from Santa himself!

So please bring the family down to the celebration. And from my family to yours, please have a safe and happy holiday season!
