MINUTES
COLCHESTER YOUTH SERVICES ADVISORY BOARD
January 2, 2008
Members Present: Lorraine Marvin, Heather Pellitier, Sarah Dell, Chris Bennett
Members Absent: Alle Floyd, Ginger Peltier, Tom St. Louis, Kerry Bell, Sheila Tortorigi, Pam Scheibelein, Nan Goodchild, Megan Kokofski, Jeff Simkulak
Others Present: Valerie Geato, Director, Colchester Youth Services, Michelle Vullo, Resident
Call to Order- Chairman L. Marvin called the regular monthly meeting to order at 5:35 p.m.
Approval of Minutes: No quorum.
Public Comments: None
Programs:
Youth Action Council: No report
Youth Force Group: No report
Other: Club Gen is wrapping up for the year. The After-School CREW will begin on Jan 15. A Stress Management group at Bacon will begin on January 30 and divorce support groups will begin shortly at the elementary school level.
Old Business:
Youth Center Sign:
· S. Dell reports she is still waiting for the sign to be painted but expects it to be completed by next month.
Town Meetings:
· Our first Town Meeting for Youth will be held on April 10th from 7-8 PM at Town Hall. First Selectman Linda Hodge will be in attendance and an invitation will go out to Superintendent Karen Loiselle. Valerie will invite the First Selectman to the next Board meeting to brainstorm ideas about the Town Meeting format.
New Business: none
Committees:
Fundraising: Review of December dance was discussed. Total profits were $367. Next dance is scheduled for Friday, March 7th
Special Events: none
Membership: Ginger Peltier: needs to be sworn in and attend a Board of Selectman meeting.
Public Relations: none
Next Agenda: Add Ice Cream Social to Special events
