SPECIAL MEETING – POLICE COMMISSION

MEMBERS PRESENT: Commissioner’s Rob Parlee, Ed Fusco, Frank Jackter, Stan Nolan and Steve Petty
OTHERS PRESENT: Sergeant M. Petruzzi and K. Kelleher
1. Call to Order – Commissioner Parlee called the March 12, 2012 special meeting to order at 6:35p.m.
2. Discussion and Possible Action on Rules and Regulations – the commission discussed and reviewed the changes made to the Rules and Regulations. Additional changes were made. This item will be kept on the agenda for the next police commission meeting.
3. Discussion and Possible Action Regarding CERT – discussion was had. Commissioner Petty will draft a letter to Reed Gustafson stating as a commission they are willing to assist in any area where they are needed. Any commission member also willing to individually commit to assisting with CERT will address Reed Gustafson personally.
4. Discussion and Possible Action on MVR Policy – Sgt. Petruzzi made the corrections that were given to him at the last police commission meeting. Commissioner Parlee MOTIONED to accept the MVR policy as written with the understanding to send it to the Board of Selectman for approval if necessary. SECONDED by Commissioner Jackter. All members present voted in favor. MOTION CARRIED.
5. Discussion on Hiring a Resident Trooper for Third Shift Patrol – discussion was had. Commissioner’s Jackter and Petty will go before the Board of Finance at their next meeting to provide findings on why there is a need for a Resident Trooper for third shift patrol. Commissioner Petty also had the answers to the questions that were asked by Colchester residents at the last Board of Finance meeting.
6. Commissioner Jackter MOTIONED to adjourn at 7:39p.m. SECONDED by Commissioner Fusco. All members present voted in favor. MOTION CARRIED.
