POLICE COMMISSION MEETING
MONDAY, June 25, 2012
6:30 P.M. – Meeting Room 1
MEMBERS PRESENT: Commissioner’s Rob Parlee, Stan Nolan and Frank Jackter
MEMBERS ABSENT: Commissioner’s Ed Fusco and Steve Petty
OTHERS PRESENT: Sgt. Rob Suchecki, Board of Education Liaison Brad Bernier, Board of Finance Liaison Art Shilosky, Tracy Fox and Officer Bryan Kowalsky
1. Call to Order – Commissioner Parlee called the Monday, June 25, 2012 meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
2. Additions to Agenda – none
3. Citizen’s Comments – Colchester resident, Tracy Fox, stated her concerns regarding the state police dispatch centers consolidating with other eastern Connecticut state police barracks and how this will impact the town of Colchester. She presented the commissioners with a copy of a petition addressed to Ct. Gov. Dannel Malloy signed by people who are opposed to the consolidation. Commissioner Parlee stated the commission is aware of the talks of consolidation but do not know to what extent the changes will be and how it will impact the town of Colchester until they receive more information. Commissioner Parlee received a copy of a letter that First Selectman Schuster sent to the State Police asking for information regarding their plan to
consolidate the dispatch centers.

5. Review Correspondence – Commissioner Parlee received a copy of the letter that First Selectman Schuster sent to the State Police asking for information regarding the consolidation of the dispatch centers.
6. Approve minutes of March 26, 2012 Police Commission Meeting – tabled to next meeting
7. Budget Review – Commissioner Parlee stated the budget referendum will be on Thursday, June 28, 2012.
8. Appropriation and Transfer – none
9. Resident Trooper Report (Sgt. Petruzzi) – Sgt. Suchecki read the Resident Trooper report in the absence of Sgt. Petruzzi. See attachment #1

10. Old Business
a. Discussion and Possible Action on Five Year Equipment Plan – Sgt. Suchecki stated he met with Commissioner Petty last week and compiled a list of important items which Commissioner Petty will present to the board members.
11. New Business - none
12. Chairman/Commission Member Comments – Commissioner Parlee will be participating in a ride along with one of the officers.
13. Adjourn – Commissioner Jackter MOTIONED to adjourn at 7:02 p.m. SECONDED by
Commissioner Nolan. All members present voted in favor. MOTION CARRIED.
