SPECIAL MEETING – POLICE COMMISSION

Tuesday, February 15, 2011

6:30 P.M. – Meeting Room 1

MEMBERS PRESENT:  Commissioner’s Rob Parlee, Ed Fusco, Frank Jackter, Steve Petty and Stan Nolan

OTHERS PRESENT:  First Selectman Gregg Schuster, Board of Selectman Liaison Stan Soby and Sergeant Petruzzi

       

   

1.      Call to Order – Commissioner Parlee called the February 15, 2011 special meeting to order at 6:34pm.



2.      Review and Possible Action on the FY-12 Budget – First Selectman Schuster gave the members of the Board of Commission a summary comparison of the current year budget vs. what’s proposed for next year.  This summary is based upon all the input that was given by the members of the board of Police Commission, and both the incoming and outgoing Resident Trooper Supervisor.  Discussion was had regarding the proposed Police Department budget. 



First Selectman Schuster stated that the salary portion only for the School Resource Officer will be transferred over to the Board of Education budget in the coming fiscal year and all other expenses for the School Resource Officer will continue to be covered by the Police Department budget. 

Commissioner Parlee asked if it would be possible to get an assessment on the condition of the existing Police cruisers from Steve Sharpe.

Discussion regarding the proposed budget continued. 



3.      Adjourn – Commissioner Parlee MOTIONED to adjourn at 7:00p.m.  SECONDED by Commissioner Nolan.  All members present voted in favor.  MOTION CARRIED.
