Committee Chair Warren Doty called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m.

  • Approval of December 4th and December 11, 2018 Meeting Minutes
Committee Member Jim Newman motioned to approve the December 4th and December 11th, 2018 meeting minutes as written. Committee member Cynthia Mitchell seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.





  • Old Business
Committee Member Cindy Mitchell shared her public health collaborative proposal that ties into Chief Retmier s Community Paramedicine project.
Committee Member Cindy Mitchells proposal outlines a public health collaborative What’s and Needs. She offered that a collaborative model would work nicely with our island community. The proposal is now in motion and the County Advisory Board and County of Commissioners are voting on the proposal in two weeks.  She shared that the meeting is being held on January 17th at 2:30 and that support and participation from partners would be welcome.  



  • New Business
Time will be reserved for topics the chair did not reasonably anticipate.

Chief Retmier explained to the Tri-Town Ambulance Committee that a prior year bill from Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office was mailed in late. He also explained that a request had been submitted to Chilmark to place the invoice on the October town Warrant but it didn’t make it on.
The Town Accountant and Town Administrator advised Tri-Town Ambulance that there is a fund called the TTA Gift Fund, that has $1,124.60 that can be used to cover this fiscal year 18 invoice. The amount of the bill is $106.31.

Chief Retmier asked for the committee’s approval to pay the invoice from the Gift Fund.

Committee Member Cindy Mitchell moved to approve the payment and Committee Member Jim Newman seconded the motion.
The motion passed unanimously.

  • TTA Chief report
                Three Month Review

Chief Retmier shared that from October 8th thru January 8th, Tri-Town Ambulance had a total of 66 incidents. Last year for this same period, there were 65 incidents.

The year to date total thus far for 2019 is 7 incidents. At the same time last year Tri-Town Ambulance had zero incidents. The total incidents for calendar year 2018 was 370 and for calendar year 2017 TTA had 420 incidents.





  • Budget Updates
At the end of December, we received approximately $199,356.00 in revenue that would be applied towards the budget. Chief Retmier shared that the exact figure will be available once Ellen and Melanie complete reconciliation.  The prior year was a little bit less. This figure provided includes the CPE Funds and represents 75% of revenues collected.

The Capital Fund has approximately $130,218.00 as of November 30th , 2018.

Chief Retmier would like to purchase 40 AED’s from Physio. The rough number is approximately $70,000.00. They would be placed in public buildings throughout the TriTown area such as schools, town halls and so forth.

The 25% for calendar year 2018 that will be added to the $130,000 is approximately $60,000.00.

Chief Retmier advised that he should have the purchase amount by the February Committee meeting. At that time, he’ll request a vote.

Warren Doty shared that Chief should share with fin coms that collections are reviewed by the Committee on a monthly basis.
 

  • Appointment of Belinda Booker
Belinda Booker has successfully completed her six-month probation period in the role of Paramedic. Chief Retmier offered that she’s been a wonderful fit with the Tri-Town Ambulance community and that she’s done a wonderful job. The committee moved to appoint Belinda as a permanent full time Paramedic at Tri-Town Ambulance.

Committee Member Jim Newman motioned to appoint Belinda Booker as a full time Paramedic.
Committee Member Cindy Mitchell seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.





  • Comstar Rates
Chief Retmier shared that Comstar has posted their 2019 rate change form. Essentially the rates are going up $53.00 over what we currently charge.

Committee Member Jim Newman motioned to approve the increase and Committee Member Cindy Mitchell seconded the motion.

Collections continue to go well.

Committee member Jim Newman motioned to adjourn the meeting at 2:39pm and Committee member Cynthia Mitchell seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
