August 9, 2017 Meeting Minutes
The meeting was called to order by Committee Chair Warren Doty at 12:00 p.m.

- Approval of July 12th, 2017 Meeting Minutes
Committee Member Cynthia Mitchell motioned to approve the meeting minutes, Committee Chair Warren Doty seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Committee Chair Warren Doty asked Chief Retmier for a report on the Ambulance purchase. Chief Retmier shared that Dave Rich from Bulldog is arriving next Tuesday to review and finalize the graphics and sign the contract.
Time will be reserved for topics the chair did not reasonably anticipate.
Committee Chair Warren Doty shared that the MV Times articles was disturbing to many. He also offered that he and Chief Retmier wrote a good response and submitted it to the Times, and that they have received positive feedback on their response.
Three Month Review
Chief Retmier shared that over the last three-month period, May 9th through August 9th, Tri-Town Ambulance has had 148 incidents. During this same three-month period, last year, Tri-Town Ambulance had 147 incidents. The year to date number of runs is 251 as compared to last year which was 239. Chief Retmier credits the increase to better documentation of stand-by calls and refusals.
Per Diem Policy
Chief Retmier shared the policy changes with TTA Committee. Chief Retmier offered that the per diem medics understand the policy and have no issue with the changes. Full time staff believes the changes in the policy are fair and equitable.
Building Site Committee Updates
Committee Chair Warren Doty shared that the Building Committee met and visited a lot located on the cross road. The land is wet, but it is an excellent location. Member(s) of the Building Site Committee will meet with the Conservation Commission and see if it’s feasible to move forward.
Cost Benefit Analysis of Year-Round Full Time EMT’s
Chief Retmier shared his preliminary CBA for adding full time EMT’s to the Tri-Town staff. Chief presented different scenarios for the committee to review. Committee member Cynthia Mitchell requested that the next step is to present what the CBA would mean to the TTA budget. Chief Retmier will have a new analysis to present at the next TTA Committee meeting in September.
Dukes County Retirement – Budget
Chief Retmier shared with the Committee, that it’s come to his attention that the
Tri-Town Ambulance budget does not, and has not included a line item for the
Dukes County Retirement System. As information becomes available the Chief and
Committee will determine how to proceed.
Allison Graczykowski, Administrative Assistant reviewed the collections to date with the Committee. Collections continue to go well.
The next meeting will be held on September 13th, 2017 at 12:00 pm at the West Tisbury Fire Station on State Road, West Tisbury.
Committee Chair Warren Doty motioned to adjourn the meeting at 12:50 pm. and Cynthia Mitchell, Committee member seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
