Chilmark Board of Selectmen November 14, 2017 Meeting Minutes
Present: James Malkin, Warren Doty Chairman Rossi was not present
Tim Carroll, Chuck Hodgkinson and Rich Saltzberg.
At 2:30 PM James Malkin called meeting to order in the Selectmen’s meeting room.
Mr. Hodgkinson said that the Town received 3 bids for the Squibnocket Beach restoration and parking lot. The lowest bid was received from John Keene Excavation for $439,500.00 with add/alternate (purchase another batch of sand) for $30,000.00.
Mr. Malkin asked when this project would commence. Mr. Hodgkinson said after the Squibnocket causeway is completed and no earlier than February 19, 2018.
Mr. Doty asked if there was anything we needed to consider for this project. Mr. Hodgkinson said there will be no footings or slab for the shack. The shack will be removed at the end of each season as it is part of the deed agreement.
Mr. Doty moved to accept the bid from John Keene Excavation and award the project to John Keene Excavation. Mr. Malkin seconded the motion. SO VOTED: 2 Ayes 1 not present
Mr. Carroll said there will be a contract ready for signatures for the Selectmen’s December 5, 2017 meeting.
At 2:41 PM with no further items for discussion Mr. Malkin moved to adjourn. Mr. Doty seconded the motion. SO VOTED: 2 Ayes 1 not present
