Chilmark Board of Selectmen August 25, 2014 Meeting Minutes
Present: Chairman Bill Rossi, Warren Doty, Jonathan Mayhew absent
Tim Carroll, Police Chief Cioffi, Patrick Brossi and Lynn Christophers
At 5:01 PM Chairman Rossi called meeting to order in the first floor meeting room.
Police Department:
Chief Cioffi requested the Selectmen appoint Patrick Brossi as a Special Police Officer. Discussion ensued. Mr. Doty moved to appoint Patrick Brossi a Special Police Officer. Mr. Rossi seconded the motion. SO VOTED: 2 Ayes
Process of Hiring New Police Officer:
Mr. Doty asked Chief Cioffi to give a description of the hiring process. Chief Cioffi said applications will be received; then 1-2 Police personnel, 1 Selectmen, 1 Human Resources member and 2 at large members will review the applications. Then a selection of the candidates selected by the aforementioned committee would then come in for interviews with Selectmen, Police chief and 1 HR member.
Harbor:
Mr. Carroll said 2 persons complained that Judd has returned to the Harbor, answering the radio and is turning people away. Discussion ensued.
Mr. Carroll also spoke about the Health inspector notice regarding the pump-out policies. Discussion ensued.
Mr. Doty said he would follow up with the harbor master concerning Jud and the Pump-out station.
At 5:10 PM Mr. Doty moved to adjourn. Mr. Rossi seconded the motion.
